On the eve of the New Year’s Test 2010 between Pakistan and Australia beginning tomorrow morning at the historical Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), here are five questions on one of my favourite cricket grounds.

Q#1. The New Year’s Test 2006 against South Africa here at the SCG was Rickey Ponting’s 100th Test. What unique record was created by the Aussie captain in this match?

Q#2. Here’s a picture question for you:

Q.2. Identify this SCG legend.

Q.2. Identify this SCG legend.

Q.3 The New Year’s Test in 1992 was the debut test for ______ ?

Q.4 In the same test as in the previous question, India captain Azharuddin selected Kapil Dev, Manoj Prabhakar, Javagal Srinath, Subroto Banerjee and Ravi Shastri amongst others in the XI. I have mentioned these 5 as they were the ones who handled the bulk of the bowling in the test for India and the question deals with bowling only. With respect to the bowling combination, what did Azharuddin do for the first time in the history of Indian cricket in this match? ( I doubt if it has ever been done again after this, but I am not sure about that)

Q.5 Ned Gregory, Jack Jennings, Bill Stuart, Wally Gorman, Bill Watt, Athol Watkins, Peter Leroy, Tom Parker. That’s a list of the ______________?
